Austin + Santa's Lap = FAIL

Well, we tried. And for the record- Austin loved Santa right up until Mommy plopped him down on the Big Guy's lap. Then everything went downhill from there. Maybe next year.

Snow much fun!

Since Blogger decided not to cooperate a few days ago, I am finally able to upload videos. Here is some video of Austin's first time playing in the snow. Cutest video footage ever? I think yes.

Video #1 is when he was stuck in the 8 inches.

Video #2 was after I set him free and cleared out some play area for him.

Let it snow!

Well, it's finally here. The snow. The snow that doesn't go away until March. The snow that I get excited over in December and am bored with by February. THAT snow. The good news is that Austin is now old enough to actually play in the white stuff, and today I bundled him up Christmas Story style and let him loose in 8 inches of powdery snow.

Things I didn't consider were:
* Austin doesn't like when he gets things on his hands- like snow. Enter the screaming.
* 8 inches of snow= Up to Austin's knees.
* Austin loves all types of balls. Footballs, soccer balls, golf balls, and now snowballs.
* Once he figured out that you could play with the snow he didn't want to come inside. 45 minutes later I finally had to drag a screaming, wet, cold child into the house.
* Eating snow is going to happen. There's no stopping it. Embrace it. Eat snow with him. Forget the acid rain.
* If you take the time to make a cute little snowman for your 2 year old he will promptly decapitate it and use the head for a snowball.
* Austin is ridiculously cute in his little snow overalls and boots.

If Austin were a baked good he would be a "Stud Muffin"

Ready to rock.

I found a way to get Austin to stand still.

A face of growing concern.

Mommy set him free gave him a snowball.

If you squeeze a snowball too tight it WILL explode.

Frosty is about to loose his head. Literally.

Snow tastes good!

Wait- that wasn't yellow snow was it?

Sweet Angel Baby

Or not.

Ahhh, the Terrible Twos. It apparently starts at 18 months and lasts until they are 6.
But seriously. I found a Terrible Twos calculator online that tells you how long to expect the behavior. I believe this is the same method used to predict when you will die and what your lucky number is. But I digress.
According to this very reliable (cough, cough) source:

Austin was born on January 30, 2008 and is 1 years and 11 months old.

You have
423 days - 0 hours - 47 minutes - and 20 seconds until your child is out of the terrible twos phase.

Aww nuts.

A Pirate, A Cowboy, and a Penguin

Chris got home early from work last night (hallelujah!) and Austin quickly recruited Daddy for some playtime. I walked into the Living Room and found this...

Someone found our Halloween costume box in the closet.
And a stuffed penguin.

And his name is Austin.

"A Pirate and a Mexican walk into a bar..."
