Austin pointing out the monkeys.
We could have set Austin loose with these guys and he would have blended right in.
The Lion King.
Beautiful peacocks walked around the outside areas.
Especially the food stands.
And they eat crepes.
And they eat crepes.
I sucked it up and went into the spider and lizard house.
"Snakes. Why did it have to be snakes?"
Indiana Jones AND Chris Taylor
This little froggy wanted me to kiss his belly.
My favorite! Giraffes.
There were several really cool play areas. Austin caught a ride on a wooden turtle.
Which was, of course, even SLOWER than a real turtle.
There were loads of different types of monkeys. I liked these little guys with the mustaches.
This. This is a HUGE crocodile. That they had in an exhibit wherein you could quite possibly fall over the observation area fence and become zoo food.
Sweet faced orangutang.
What animal could possible make Chris so excited?
(that's his face of excitement by the way)
Penguins!
Austin was really excited too!
I think he gets his excited face from me though.
Daddy explaining how awesome penguins are.
Austin making a friend.
They were swimming laps around the outside pool.
Probably because it felt kind of like Antarctica.
Like a good German, Austin is eating his ice cream in the cold weather.
His present from the zoo.
A clown fish.
Which they had none of there.
Hmmm.

looks like you guys are really having a blast, miss you and look forward to seeing all of you in person and not just in photos
Nikki and the girls send their regards as well
Brian and Chris' excited face looks exactly the same, so funny. Good thing our kids have us moms to show them how to show emotion! ;)
Looks like the zoo was a blast, and I will quit complaining about our cold (50's) weather.
BTW, Austin called and told me he really wants a sibling. Soooo, yeah. :)
